Eigen Technologies appoints first CFO and new CRO. Executive team further strengthened after best ever sales quarter

London, UK – Eigen Technologies (“Eigen”), the global provider of natural language processing (NLP) technology, has appointed Spyros Karageorgis as its first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Tony Ehrens as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Both will join Eigen’s executive team, with Spyros based in London and Tony in New York.

Spyros brings with him extensive experience at AI and SaaS companies, including most recently as the CFO & COO of Cortexica Vision Systems, an AI image recognition company. Prior to Cortexica, Spyros successfully led the dual track exit and IPO of Venda, an online SaaS e-commerce platform, which resulted in the company’s sale to NetSuite. He also served as the COO of MedicAnimal, a Balderton-backed online animal pharmacy. Prior to MedicAnimal, he worked in corporate development for Orange and started his career as an engineer at Bell Labs. Spyros holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and completed his masters at Telecom Paris.

Tony joins Eigen with twenty years’ experience in senior software sales roles, including extensive sales experience at AI and SaaS companies. Throughout his career in sales leadership roles, Tony has consistently delivered rapid expansion and revenue growth with global teams. He joins Eigen from robotic process automation business Kryon Systems, where he was General Manager and VP Sales, Americas. Before that he was SVP Global Sales for Smart Process Automation SaaS platform WorkFusion and SVP of Sales at Sitrion.

These appointments further strengthen Eigen’s executive team as momentum continues to build in the business. In May, Eigen announced the appointment of David Brooks as its first Chief Customer Officer, and the executive team has led the business from strength to strength, including delivering its best ever sales quarter in calendar Q3 2020. Bookings in this quarter were almost three times the level in the same period last year.

Dr. Lewis Z. Liu, Co-founder & CEO of Eigen Technologies said:

“I am delighted to welcome executives of Spyros and Tony’s caliber to Eigen. Both bring highly relevant expertise and are leaders in their respective fields. It’s testament to how far we have already come as a business that we could attract them to Eigen.

“Spyros not only brings extensive experience of leading a disciplined finance function, including in times of corporate activity, he also brings a background in engineering. Tony comes to us with a fantastic track record of delivering revenue growth in software companies such as ours. Our customers have always been central to everything we do at Eigen, something I know Tony agrees with and will continue.

“These appointments come as we mark our best ever sales quarter and I am confident both Spyros and Tony will have a significant impact as we enter our next stage of growth and continue to scale.”

Spyros Karageorgis, CFO of Eigen Technologies said:

“Scaling companies such as Eigen is what I love doing. Taking a company like this to the next level and enabling it to fulfil its potential is a unique experience and I know Eigen has the team, the product and the backing to do this. I have been particularly impressed with how Eigen combines both technical excellence with commercial acumen, something embodied by Lewis himself. As someone who combines a technical and corporate background, I know how powerful this can be.”

Tony Ehrens, Chief Revenue Officer of Eigen Technologies said:

“From the moment I met Lewis and the team I knew that Eigen understands the centrality of the customer to winning in business. The fact Eigen has been revenue generating since day one is both unusual and very impressive. I am very excited to start working with the team to build on the company’s fantastic Q3 sales performance and ensuring that we have the best B2B SaaS sales team. We will win in market when we deliver value and great service for our customers.”
